Roadmaps, intake, governance, PI planning, Azure DevOps visibility, stakeholder alignment, and product/engineering partnership practices needed more structure to support clearer prioritization and delivery confidence.

Sallie Mae: Scaling the Sallie College Planning Platform

Context

At Sallie Mae, I served as Director of Product Management for Education Services, leading product management and agile delivery for an education-focused digital product portfolio within a newly established digital product organization.

 

The portfolio included the Sallie College Planning platform, a digital experience designed to help students and families navigate college planning and related education decisions.

Challenge

The product organization needed to scale a digital platform while building stronger product management practices, improving delivery alignment, and creating a more mature operating model. The work required strategy, roadmap prioritization, cross-functional leadership, stakeholder alignment, and a clear connection between product decisions and user engagement.

What I led

  • Directed product management and agile delivery for the Education Services portfolio

  • Oversaw Product Managers, Product Owners, analysts, and contracted Scrum Masters

At Brookline Bancorp / Beacon Bank, I served as Vice President, Director of Consumer Product Management, leading product strategy, innovation, and lifecycle management across consumer banking products, digital platforms, customer experience capabilities, and operational services.

The organization needed to modernize customer-facing banking experiences, improve product offerings, strengthen digital access, and connect product strategy to measurable business growth. The work required leadership across banking products, digital capabilities, Agile delivery practices, customer experience, and technology modernization.
